CDX is a type of plywood made from layers of wood veneer, where the outer veneers are graded “C” and “D” (indicating lower appearance grades), and the “X” stands for exterior glue used in bonding the layers. While not intended for long-term exposure to the elements, CDX is commonly used in construction for subfloors, roof sheathing, and wall sheathing due to its strength and affordability.
