Surface two sides, we also do S4S, which is all 4 sides. This is NOT sanding. We simply run the boards through the planer-typically just to achieve the desired thickness.
A lineal foot is the same as a regular foot (12″) so 6 lineal feet, would just be 6 feet.
A board foot is the thickness x width x length /12. So a board that is 1″x2″x6′ would have 1 board foot in it. (1x2x6 =12 divided by 12 = 1)
We have different fees associated with millwork. For custom millwork (i.e. a specific piece not in stock) there is generally a fee of $60 depending upon what is being done. For running any sort of trim not in stock there is a $75 moulder set up fee, plus .45 cents per lineal foot ran. All these fees are a 1 time fee regardless of the lineal footage being run.
If you simply want sanding, straight line ripping, or surfacing done it is $0.20 cents per side, per lineal foot- (with a $15 minimum on each)
Absolutely! However, if you bring lumber in- not purchased from us but would like for us to surface, sand, or rip it, the minimum jumps up to $15 for each service. If damage occurs to our machine during millwork of lumber not purchased at Hollingsworth Lumber, there will be an added $100.00 charge. Also if damage occurs to our machine during custom sawing of lumber not purchased at Hollingsworth Lumber, there is an added $65.00 charge per hit.
We do! We do charge a bandsaw set up fee of $50, plus $0.50 per lineal foot. As mentioned above if damage occurs to our machine during custom sawing of lumber no purchased as Hollingsworth Lumber, there is an added $65.00 charge per hit.
Of course we do, but we need them to be a minimum of 12″ in diameter, and accept lengths between 8′ and 21′.
We prefer to take logs Monday-Friday, 8-12, and 1-4:30. We will take them on Saturdays if previous arrangements have been made.

One yard of mulch will cover 100 square foot area at 3″ thick.
The mulch will still be damp upon purchase and will not dry completely until it has been spread in a landscape setting. For this reason you should use a tarp if unloading onto concrete or asphalt, as it could stain. Also do not apply the mulch during the rain, instead chose a day when there is no rain in the forecast for 24 hours. Once the mulch has dried, the colorant bonds to the mulch so it won’t wash or leach.
